Zhangye Economic Zone Accelerates Major Silicon-Based Project to Drive High-Quality Development
Major projects serve as crucial 'growth poles' for economic development. Zhangye Economic Development Zone prioritizes securing the construction of major projects as a foundational task to enhance development momentum. By establishing a multi-departmental coordinated linkage mechanism, addressing enterprise demands in a stratified and categorized manner, creating a comprehensive 24/7 service network, innovating service delivery, and implementing the 'Four Personnel' escort initiative (service personnel, escort personnel, publicity personnel, coordination personnel), it proactively resolves project and enterprise challenges, fully ensures the successful launch and operation of projects, and strives to establish a new benchmark for the business environment.
At the construction site of the Gansu Heihe Silicon-Based New Material Comprehensive Utilization Project, tower cranes stand densely, machines roar, and the prototype of a large-scale steel structure intelligent factory has taken shape. Workers are actively engaged in installing the lining plates of the smelting workshop and the silicoferroalloy smelting electric furnace. The total investment in this project amounts to 2.063 billion yuan. Capitalizing on abundant local power and quartz resources, the project entails the construction of 10×33,000 KVA mining electric furnaces and an annual production capacity of 170,000 tons of silicon-based materials. Upon full completion, the project is expected to achieve an industrial output value of 2.94 billion yuan, produce 170,000 tons of silicon-based materials annually, generate taxation revenue of 86.3265 million yuan, and create over 800 jobs. This project plays a crucial role in advancing the development of the silicon-based industry chain within the industrial park.
Currently, the overall project progress has reached 80%, with the completion of civil engineering works for the comprehensive office building and laboratory, as well as foundational works for the underground facilities of the chemical water workshop, boiler foundations, air cooling island equipment, and post-furnace dust removal equipment. We have reasonably scheduled the construction timeline, rigorously enforced project progress, and strive to achieve the ignition and operation of the first electric furnace by October this year. Since the beginning of this year, the Zhangye Economic and Technological Development Zone has firmly established the concept of 'Project is King,' continuously strengthening the foundation and optimizing services. It is fully committed to 'securing projects, advancing preliminary work, competing for funds, and promoting investment,' closely monitoring target tasks and deadlines, earnestly implementing the 'Five Ones' work mechanism, improving measures, enhancing services, fully leveraging the role of project specialists, conducting daily follow-ups, weekly scheduling, and biweekly on-site office sessions to collectively resolve issues, providing strong service support to accelerate project construction. From January to May, the Economic Development Zone completed fixed asset investments totaling 2.78 billion yuan, representing a year-on-year increase of 86%.
